I woke up this morning to an overwhelming feeling of love for myself. As I wrapped myself in a blanket to wake my daughter for …

I woke up this morning to an overwhelming feeling of love for myself. As I wrapped myself in a blanket to wake my daughter for school, I felt as though I was hugging myself. Now, as I sit and gaze outside my patio window, I wonder “When did this happen? When did I fall in love with Synolve?”

For years, I hated myself. Not many people will say that out loud, but it is true for many of us. Years of feeling abandoned by my family and tormented by memories from my childhood left me saddened and riddled with an unhealthy self-loathing that lived quietly just below the surface of my outer life. Inside I despised the solitude of my life that I now relish. I have spent years loathing the silence and hating the little girl who was sent to live with her grandmother so many years ago. The nagging questions of “Why doesn’t my mommy love me?” turned right side in began pointing themselves at the asker…me.

After years of silence, the knower within me began to respond. At first saying, “Your mommy loves you. Your grandmother loves you.” Today it says, “I love you.”

The great knower that is within each of us wants us to understand this simple truth…that you are loved beyond measure and that you are a priceless treasure. Once I learned this lesson for myself, every part of my life has been transformed and reborn.

Self-loathing and self-hatred can keep us from manifesting the things we desire in our lives like friendships, careers, happiness, serenity, and true love. For me, my own self-hatred kept me separated from wealth and abundance. As I look back, I realize now that I had built a wall around my heart. This wall that I built around myself to keep me safe was built by bricks of self-hatred and self-loathing. It kept love locked in and it also kept love locked out. Keeping myself from my own self-love and self-worth hurt me physically and emotionally. With each brick, I not only kept myself and my gifts in, but I kept goodness, abundance, and blessings out. I kept myself hidden behind this ego-built facade not allowing my true self to pour through because I felt unworthy and unlovable.

Years of hugs and tender kisses from my husband and children broke through the walls. Even the moat and rickety old draw bridge have been replaced. If you visit my inner world these days, you’ll find infinite fields of joy and self-love.

Today, I love myself. At this very moment, I am head over heals falling in love with Synolve.

I recently watched Oprah on her show talking with Geneen Roth who is the author of Women, Food and God. During the show, Oprah shared a tearful experience of how in the past she overeats whenever she has to tell someone “No”. After a phone call from a friend asking her for something, she began eating a healthy meal finding that she couldn’t stop with just one bite. Where she had once eaten a whole bag of chips whenever she was upset, she now realized she would eat a whole head of lettuce. (Read the full show transcript here: Oprah with Geneen Roth)

She’d never really dealt with the pain and guilt of her childhood growing up in MS. Oprah says, she often overate in those moments because she felt that if she didn’t say “Yes” that the person had the power to annihilate her by saying negative things about her in the media or by creating other negative outcomes.

How many times have we too said “Yes” to people simply because they made us feel guilty or because we felt it was just simply easier to say “Yes” than to say “No” and deal with the person’s attitude or negative outcome? I’ve done it plenty of times, more times than I’d care to admit actually. I’ve finally come to the conclusion that I can’t do it anymore. I have to get tough and get strong.

My giver is empty…

My giver runneth out. Time to say NO!

Recently, I have been bombarded with an onslaught of people asking me to give to their various projects, organizations, and activities. The requests have ranged from free publicity to market their products to free advertising in The Infinite Field Magazine to requests that I support them, their products, and their activities on facebook, twitter, and other social media outlets. The requests seem to becoming more and more brazen asking for outrageous marketing, publicity, promotion, and advertising services for free. Since I am a magazine owner, mini-media mogul, and quasi-public figure, people often want to become connected to my large sphere of influence without one ounce of investment on their part.

While I AM a giver and I love to support people, products, and projects that I feel strongly about, I don’t like being taken advantage of. When people take advantage of my good-hearted nature and generosity to serve their own purposes, it is stressful and humiliating. It is stressful because I often don’t know how to say “No” and humiliating because they often do it openly rather than privately. What is even more humiliating is that I allow it. Each and every time I say “Yes” when it’s not authentic and true, I feel like I am drowning in a sea of regret because I know in my heart I really should have said “No”. In these moments, I give my power and control away to someone who does not deserve or honor it.

I am tired, frustrated and done with giving away my wisdom, knowledge and time for free.

Maybe you’re also tired, frustrated, and overwhelmed by giving. Take courage. You can say “No” without fear because as I realized what you are really giving away is yourself. When you give yourself away to someone that does not value you, then you have to realize that you are God’s creation and that YOU are important. God did not intend for you to pimp your gifts, talents, and services for free. You are worth way too much for that!

So, get clear! If people are coming to you for your services, then it means YOU are GOOD at what you do! Don’t be afraid to ask that they pay for your service or product! Don’t be afraid to see the AMAZING Value in what you have to offer! You are a bright and shinning star! NO ONE can take that shine away, even if you say “NO!”

I talked with a woman this morning who had four different companies. She was trying to figure out how to advertise them all in The Infinite Field Magazine. It seemed to be quite a big dilemma for her and this one decision was keeping her from being able to move her business forward. One of the options that I offered her was to invest in a 12 month advertising package and then promote each of her different companies on a quarterly basis. Meaning she’d promote one company with an ad in the magazine for 3 months then promote the next company for 3 months and by the end of the 12 months she would have promoted all 4 companies.

After I got off the phone with her, I realized that my real questions was “Have you figured out what you want to do with your life yet?” This woman was plagued with indecision and a lack of focus. Customers pick up on that and often decide not to buy. They may choose to purchase the very same product from another company all because your website is too busy, your message is unclear, or you offer too many things and so the main product or service that you want to provide gets lost in a sea of too many choices and a cluttered vision.

Like a child, this woman still hasn’t decided what she wants to do when she grows up. While finding your true path can be an arduous journey, you can find the career or mission that is right for you. What happens for most of us is that when we find our true path we realize that achieving the success and abundance that we need to support our lifestyle isn’t that easy to acquire and often doesn’t manifest as quickly as we need it. So, instead of continuing with our heart’s call, we abandon it for greener pastures…money. How many people have you known that have a really great gift, talent, or skill but everytime you see them they aren’t talking to you about their passion? Instead they are sharing with you information about the latest pyramid scheme and have sold their own passion for a glitzier and a seemingly sure-thing built on sinking sand. Ultimately, they have traded in their own dream for someone else’s dream.

It is sad to watch, but it happens everyday. We loose sight of our own goals and begin chasing something that looks real because someone comes to us with a shiny marketing package or a fast-talking sales pitch claiming that for just $295, they can change your life forever and make all your dreams come true…quickly and instantly. While you are building their pyramid, you are slowly deconstructing and killing your own purpose. All of this is possible because you have moved away from your vision and did not properly access the considerable amount of work and sacrifice it would take to make your dream come true. So the disappointment propels you to begin seeking other types of income producing activities to support your lifestyle rather than holding fast and anchoring yourself to your dream. You abandon your dreams and are then left with an empty feeling and are constantly riddled with the guilt and anguish of your betrayal. You realize that you have let down your biggest supporter…you.

Many of us use every spiritual bypass or escape mechanism we can think of to avoid feeling the emptiness of releasing and letting go. The …

Many of us use every spiritual bypass or escape mechanism we can think of to avoid feeling the emptiness of releasing and letting go. The emptiness from releasing the hurt and pain of the past can feel excruciating. This is why we often choose to hold on to the grief, pain, sorrow, and unforgiveness longer than we need to so that we can feel “full” or FULfilled. Many of us have held onto this sensation of feeling “full” for so long that we don’t realize that it is a false sensation and that ultimately we are already very empty inside. It is like the feeling that you get after eating a piece of candy or drinking lots of water to feel full instead of eating a solid meal for dinner filled with nutritious food that is good for your body and your soul. Since we are energetic beings who feed on energy, we continually feed on the pain of unresolved issues instead of embracing a new life and new consciousness that is real and true.

Even when we finally get up the nerve to release and let go, many times we don’t completely release all that we need to because we have become so accustomed to the anguish, pain, and despair that we feel. We wrap ourselves in the guilt and shame of our pasts like a blanket without even realizing we are wrapping ourselves in pain when we can be free. Without truly understanding that we have a choice, we hold on to pain that we have endured for months and sometimes years because we have become so comfortable with the pain of our familiarity. The pain of the past is now synonymous with who we are and so linked with our story that it is difficult even for us to know who and what we truly are. Instead of identifying with our glory, we identify with the pain of our past situations and the limiting beliefs of who we once were.

We are so unsure and uncertain of the new path and direction that releasing will take us so we keep ourselves entangled and trapped in habits, fears, thoughts, jobs, surroundings, or relationships that no longer serve us simply because we are afraid to experience the emptiness of releasing and the pain of letting go. The emptiness need not last an eternity if we understand how to allow the feeling to flow from us without using a bypass or escape mechanism to set ourselves free prematurely from the feeling.

The time has come to truly be filled. It is time to live with a cup that is overflowing and running over. You don’t have to walk around with a false feeling of being full. You can actually BE full within. Allow your emptiness to be a bridge to your higher self. As you release the old, fill yourself from within with the light of love that you have so long desired. Fill yourself up with the truth of Divine Essence which is leading to a glorious you. Embrace the emptiness knowing that it too will pass as you renew and fill yourself from within.

Namaste

Since I was a small child, I’ve always had a couple of things by my side: notebook and writing utensil. These are truly the constants in my life. While the writing utensils have changed from crayons to pencils to pens, my notebook has been my constant companion. I’m really not a “loose leaf” paper fan. I prefer a good solid surface, you know, something substantial to write in. I love to write, and I love the idea of writing. Just thinking about writing gets me all excited and happi inside. From the day I learned to write my name, I wrote it everywhere. I even wrote it on my wall when I was a child. Boy, did my mother get mad at me! I can see my name now straddled elegantly across my bedroom wall S Y N O L V E….

It was beautiful! I just sat there smiling and admiring it. Might have thought I would have written it and then went to hide or something. But no, not me. I just sat there smiling. Shortly after my mom and stepdad became “aware” of my beautiful artwork, I could hear them saying something about paying fees and painting over it. My mother quickly reintroduced me to a pencil and paper after that little incident. They did paint over it. But I knew it was there. I still smile today just thinking about that wall with my name on it. And while I never quite got up the courage to go wall writing again, I did paint may name on page after page of notebook paper. As I began to add additional words to my portfolio, the name Synolve still captivated me and thrilled me. I love my name. It’s very comforting to sit and see it now on this new website. For the longest time as I contemplated what this space would be, I knew for sure that my love for writing and my name would be the driving force and the beat that keeps the sacred rhythm. Today, I have my notebook beside me with some of my wildest dreams and private thoughts.

My notebook has witnessed and been by my side through everything from meeting my husband to watching my tummy move as my children grew inside. I’ve cried with my notebook, watched TV with my notebook, and YES, I confess, I’ve even slept with my notebook…under my pillow, on my night stand, and on the floor beside my bed. At night when the air is calm and the world is quiet, I reach for my notebook to write the ramblings in my mind and drift off to sleep again with my arms wrapped around my husband’s side.

I love my notebook because it welcomes me with open arms and never judges me. My notebook holds my words for safekeeping. And even during those times when I’ve lost my notebook, for better or worse, I know my words are still there. I carry a notebook with me everywhere I go even to the bathroom or driving in my car. Sometimes while I’m sitting there, in the car, I jot down a word or two from a driver’s license plate passing by or words from a billboard. Sometimes, the words are just words and other times, they are divine inspiration. That’s why I carry my notebook with me because you never know when a good idea will pop up.

My name is Synolve and I carry a notebook with me everywhere I go.

Perhaps from time to time, I’ll share some of the thoughts from my notebook with you, if you like. Stop by anytime. My notebook and I will be waiting…

Namaste

What have you done for yourself today?

Taking time to treat and pamper yourself is so important to your body, mind, and spirit. So I decided that today is all about me. It started yesterday actually. I washed my hair, got my makeup done at the mall, and watched my favorite tv show with every pillow I could find piled up all around me. And you know what?

IT FELT GOOD! The make-up was absolutely phenomenal! I am GORGEOUS!! After my make-up session, I walked hand in hand thru the mall with my hubby just beaming!! Last night I went to sleep with my make-up on (didn’t want to take it off). This morning I was extra careful not to let the water hit my face while I was in the shower. I felt like a teenager all over again after I got my first pair of Jordace Jeans! I didn’t take them off for a WEEK!

Today, I went to my favorite stores: Home Goods and World Market! Immediately, whenever I go into these stores, I feel good! I love the smell, look, and feel of these 2 stores! They have so many good things that I could buy ABSOLUTELY everything in the store!

Next, I went out for breakfast with my hubby, and had some grits that taste just like the ones my grandma used to make!

Then I went and test drove a Mercedes GL350 Blue Tec SUV…..Can you say luxury? MMMmmm!

I had a beautiful day! (And I did it all before the bus came & dropped my kids off from school!)

If you haven’t taken a day just for YOU, do it soon. Whether you schedule it, plan it, or just wake up one morning on a whim, take some time for YOU!

What will this do for YOU? It will: Renew Your Mind.

With a fresh mind, you will have more creativity, joy, and passion. You can change the world with those 3 things!

Namaste
